Create a free and easy Twitter account to recieve reminders and emergency text message notifications from the band! How to start following MBHS Bronco Band on Twitter! 1. Go to www.twitter.com and set up a free account. 2. Once you are signed in click SETTINGS at the top right of the screen and choose the DEVICES tab. 3. Follow the instructions to set up your phone. You will need to verify your number by texting a code to 40404. 4. Once your phone is set up, skip the steps that help you “find friends” and go to www.twitter.com/mbhsbroncoband 5. Click the box that says “Follow”. 6. Click the box that says “Following – Device Updates Off” and change the selection to “on” and you are all set! From now on you will receive Text Message Notifications from the MBHS Bronco Band. NOTE: Be sure to check with your cell phone provider to make sure text messages are covered in your phone’s service plan. Twitter does NOT charge for text messaging, but your phone company’s standard text messaging rates will apply.
Sally Foster order pickup - Wednesday, Sept. 30th 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Students who placed orders from the Sally Foster catalog can pickup orders in the Band Hall from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30th.
Students/families who cannot pickup on Wednesday should make alternate arrangements by contacting Colleen Egan at axnik@aol.com or call (214)402-3426
Signup for the Band Mailing List
Please sign up for the Band Mailing list (there are several, but the main annoucements is the minimum you should sign up for) using the link on the left side bar ("Mailing List") or click here to access the same signup page.
If you haven't signed up for the mailing list using this link, you're not on the mailing list. SIgning up for an account on the website does not automatically sign you up for the mailing list, as some website users are not band parents or students.
All-State Music
The All-State music for the 2009-2010 school year has just been released. Visit www.tmea.org and click "Band Etudes and Books" under "2009-2010 All-State" on the main page.
Students will receive detailed instruction on these three etudes during their 2:00-4:00 PM sectionals the first 2 weeks of August from a specialist on their instrument. It is a requirement for students in Honors Band and Symphonic Band I to audition for the All-Region Band in early December. Also, all students will be tested on these three etudes throughout the semester and at the end of the semester for their Spring 2010 band placements.

McKinney Area Dining & Shopping Coupon Book
The McKinney Boyd Band Boosters is once again participating in the annual McKinney Area Dining & Shopping coupon book sale. This is a joint fundraiser with McKinney High, McKinney North and McKinney Boyd band booster clubs. Each club receives $750 for participating as well as money for each book sold (proceeds depend on the total number of books sold).
A third party is contracted to sell the books, via telephone, to residents of the McKinney area. Books may also be purchased online through www.diningandshopping.net or by calling (940)243-9161.
The book is priced at $39.95 and contains over $7,000 in coupons for restaurants, movie theaters, gold courses and entertainment venues.
Website Update: Phonebook
When you log in and click on My Account → Edit you will see a new tab titled Phonebook. Clicking on this will reveal a new form that lets you enter your own contact information that will be used to create the online and printed Band phonebook. Please take a moment to enter your information here so we can have an accurate phonebook!
